Project Life - Week 14

This was an action packed week.  My sister in law is still off work recovering from her hand surgery and her daughter Katy who works at a school was off for Spring Break.  That meant lots of girl time this week which was totally awesome.

When I initially sat down and planned the pages this week I had every intention of doing an insert because I had so many awesome pictures from an excursion we took on Friday but the more I thought about it I decided to change my plan.  Since my weeks are going Sunday to Saturday this weeks spread would not include Easter.  I knew there would be an insert next week so I decided to revise and I love the way it all turned out.

Here is the full spread;

Here's the left side

I just embellished the title card a bit with a cut from the Dear Lizzy Polaroid paper.  Super cute!

This was a collage I posted on Instagram last week, a collage that I know I will cherish years to come.  Super cute photos of Simone and her 90 year old Grandma playing Yahtzee for the first time.  I love the close ups of Simone listening so intently and writing down her score.  The little card with my journaling was made by me using my Cameo.

Lot's of everyday shots.  I used the new Smash Calendar tape on the second slot of Simone and the Snow Cone.  I love the tape but hate that I don't have a single pen that will write on it clearly.  This is a major disappointment.

I made some journaling cards using some digital Ombre Chevron Paper for the left slot.  Love these so much.

Another Cathy Zielske journal card with a photo.  Loving these!

A little bit about a new book I read last week.  I'll tell you more about that on Friday for sure. I heared today that the author will be on The Today Show with Hoda and Kathy Lee tomorrow 4/11.  I look forward to seeing her on the show, she deserves all the success she is getting for sure!

Here is the right hand side.

We took a trip to the nursery because someone wanted to plant a garden.  We picked up some herbs and tomatoes too.

The first of two girl trips this past week.  My niece Katy is getting married in September so she had her make-up trial at our MAC store with a friend of her's that is a make-up artist their.  We had lunch first and went shoe shopping at DSW.  A super fun day.

I saved the plant stakes and cut down a glassine envelope that I adhered to a blank grid journaling card.  Love this little detail.  Plus I'll always know where they are in case I need to refer to them.

The card on the right is the journaling that goes with our second girl trip below it.

I filled up my tank on Friday, ouch!  I took a picture of the pump.  I need to go back and put the date on this somewhere so I know the exact day for history sake.  Maybe a little tab stapled to the top or something.

The card on the right came from A Life Handmade.  I heard of the shop from Ali Edward's blog and loved her items.  It was the perfect card to showcase the April Photo A Day Challenge list that I'm following on Instagram.  I posted photos of my project life pages to Instagram yesterday and the shop owner saw my page and commented that she liked it and it was the first time she had seen her cards used so far.  I think its super cool when stuff like that happens!

Our second girl day was a trip up to Daffodil Hill in Volcano, CA.  I spoke about it last year on the blog.  It's really awesome and Mary and Katy had not been yet.  We stopped off at a cute place new to all of us for lunch in Sutterville called Susan's Place.  It was super cute and the food was really good.  We all had a great time taking pictures and posting them to Instagram while we were there.

The last slot was a simple collage of Easter preparations.  I used one of the Amy Tangerine fabric flowers I got in my kit last month, love these!

This was the first week that I was bummed my pages didn't go Monday to Sunday because it felt odd to leave Easter out this week.  At least I have something fun to look forward too next week.

See you back on Friday!
