Featuring Kelly Purkey │ January release

The latest releases are live over at Kelly Purkey's shop and I wanted to share what I made with you. This release was a big one and the stamp sets and kits are so awesome.

This isn't really a stand alone project, it was a sneak image that I posted on Instagram before the release but I actually liked how it ended up so I glued everything down. It has little bits of the Addison alpha, Hustle and the Truth Bomb stamp sets as well as cards and stamps from the main Love Story Kit.

One of the things I'm most excited about making this year is an album just about me. I'll be sharing a separate blog post about this very soon but I wanted to share the spread I made for it using Kelly's new stuff. I used stamps from the Hustle and Truth Bomb stamp sets, cards from the main Love Story kit, and cards and stamps that came in the Currently Loving mini kit by Tina Azmus. I loved this mini kit! But I tend to love just about everything Tina makes. The card in the lower right corner of the ladies face is from ScrapEmporium and is not part of the kit, I loved how it paired with the black and white cards so I added it in. The pop of emerald green is my fave.

My next project was a travelers notebook spread. I really wanted to use the Addison alpha stamp set as a focal point and I couldn't let those little weather icons from the Today's Forecast stamp set go unused either.

This weather block is going to come in so handy for my pocket page spreads this year. I love the little phrases that fit inside the main block. The alpha stamps will also get lots of play purely because of the classic font and the smaller size.

I managed to use every stamp set this month and I really love how the sentiments can cross over and work together in so many ways. I hope you got everything you wanted make sure you tag your photos on Instagram with @KellyPurkeyShop, I check it frequently to see what everyone is making and sharing and I love it.

I'll be back soon with a post dedicated to my personal album.

Take care,

Featuring Kelly Purkey │ December Release

In all the craziness of sharing December Daily® pages I never shared what I made using Kelly Purkey's December release. Well I guess I shared one that was in my December Daily® but I didn't share the other.

After Christmas I was still in denial that a brand new year was approaching so I decided to play a bit in my planner hoping that dressing up my January calendar might help get me excited for a new year.

I don't think I've ever loved a number stamp set as much as this one. I have major heart eyes for the Day One kit this month and seriously could not stop using the stamp set as you will see below. I added the year to the blank space on my planner and used the solid circle stamp to add some additional silver spots. I love how this looks like sequins, how very New Year's Eve of me.

I paired the Day One stamps with stamps from the Fight On and the Workday stamp sets. These two sets are great for planners and even though I don't work outside of the home the Workday stamp set is a really good set for motivational purposes too. I really loved the orange color of some of the cards that Kelly added to the kit this year and used them for a very personal project that I'll share down below.

My other project was one I have already shared with my December Daily® pages but its worth another look here because even though its the same Day One stamp set, it looks so different when used to create a background like I did here.

I really love how the months fit into the spaces left for the circles. Such a fun and creative way to make a date in your planner or in your pocket page spreads this coming year.

One of the projects I really wanted to do last year was a personal pocket page album, just for me and really just all about me. I never got started on it so I vowed to make it happen this year. The idea of working on a mini over the course of a year has me pretty excited. I put some of my favorite Day One kit cards to use on the title page for my album as you will see below.

Orange is one of my many favorite colors and I had fun digging thru my stash of goodies to find items that would complement that color and help set a tone for my project. My plan is to share pages from it as I feel comfortable. I don't usually hold back on sharing my work but in case this ends up being on the deeply personal side I may hold some back. I'll just go with the flow and see what it ends up shaping up as.

I hope you enjoyed Kelly's release as much as I did, she added two new alpha stamps sets to the shop, the Charles.

And also the Lafayette.

I think the Lafayette alpha set is the perfect partner for the Potterhead stamp set which she did bring back and its still available if you missed it last month.

I cannot wait to get making in 2017 so I'm sure I'll be back with more to share very soon.

Take care,

December Daily® 2016 │ The End

I wanted to share the last little bit of my album before I shelve it for the year. I always try to capture photos of our elf Twinkle ever since she came to visit us four years ago. Last year I added a fold out collage of photos and I thought about doing that again but when Ali shared how she used the pocket from her main kit and filled it with large tags, I was inspired.

I decided to make my own pocket mainly because I wanted it to be white and the off white color of the pocket in the main kit wasn't doing it for me. Plus I knew I wanted to Minc the word Twinkle for the front pocket. This is something I did last year too and loved it so repeating it again was totally fine for me. I used a digital brush from Ali Edwards that is included in her brush set called Noel. You can find it in her digital shop.

The cut file I used to create the pocket is from the Silhouette store, I just modified it for the size and shape I wanted. You can see a tutorial on how I modified the same pocket page for another project right here. I had to cut the front portion of the pocket twice because my Minc machine is the 6" version so I had to hack it a bit but it still worked. I lined the pocket with the same gold star vellum I started the album with and like the continuity.

The tags were created by me, I just enlarged a tag shape to the size that would fit the pocket and create clipping masks to add in my photos. I did a print and cut on my Cameo and lined the photo paper with plain white cardstock to beef it up a bit. I cut the reinforces out of gold paper and added some ribbon for accent. The numbers came in the Jasmine Jones mini kit that I hadn't used yet and they worked perfectly here to number the days.

I didn't add any text because I didn't think the photos really needed captions, they are pretty self explanatory.

That flair on the outside of the pocket came in Kelly Purkeys' December kit and its my favorite sentiment of the season and a perfect way to wrap up the project.

I hope this inspires you if you also have a visiting elf and have no idea how to wrangle all the pictures. I will say its nice to be done but its definitely energized my memory keeping and it has me excited to continue making in the coming year.

See you soon!
