Featuring Kelly Purkey Shop │ December Shop Update

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! We sure did and I have enjoyed the past few days with my family relaxing and enjoying my daughters break from school. I'm popping in today to share the projects I made with the December Kelly Purkey Shop update that went live today.

Note: This post contains affiliate links, which means I receive a small commission if you make a purchase using the links below. There is no additional cost to you if you use these links.

There are so many great kits and stamp sets this month and many of them are great for tackling and planning out your New Year goals and plans. The first project I made was for my bullet journal. This is something I've been playing around with the past few months and something I hope to continue working on this coming year. I'm a total novice so its nice to have some Kelly Purkey stamps to help make my buju look good.

I used the new 6x8 2019 Calendar stamps to fill out the left side and used the Tina's Months to label each month. On the left side I used the new Highline Outline Number stamps to stamp in the year and added a few simple stamps from the All The Things mini kit to title my journaling block.

My next project was a spread for my December Daily® Day 13. I used a few cards from the Love Notes kit on the left side to ground my large photo. I loved how they paired with the pink tree card from the Countdown to Christmas Printable Papers that I used on the right side. The What I Wore stamp set was perfect since I wanted this spread to be about the new sweatshirt I purchased this year. I used stamps from the Highline Outline Numbers and Tina's Months here as well and also used stamps from the Favorite Holiday set. I love that stamp set, especially the *my favorite holiday stamp.

I hope you enjoyed this release. I'll be back soon with more pages from by December album.

December Daily® 2018 │ Days Eight thru Twelve

Hello there, six days to go and I'm still over here plugging away at my album. I'm here today to share a few more days that I have done. I'm still running about five days behind but I'm okay with that. I keep telling myself not to stress, there's so much going on that I don't need to stress my self out over this too. I'm totally enjoying going at my own pace and working on a few days pages at a time.

Day 8 was a fun girls day out for us at a local makers fair. I didn't have anything wonderful photo wise from the market but I did have some cute photos for our stop for a dessert lunch.

I used digital files from Paislee Press for the whole left side and I love the look of this collection its called December Faves 07.

I shrunk down the 3x4 card to fit and I cut out the sticker on my Cameo so that I could lift if off the page with foam tape.

To separate the two days I used another transparency, this is from American Crafts DIY shop line and I love the gold metallic starts. I layered the branch and the chipboard all from the Crate Paper Merry Days collections to dress up the transparency a bit.

Day nine, was movie date to see the new Fantastic Beasts movie and I really only had one photo that wasn't all that great. I decided to create a tag layer and use an image I found online for the movie. I wanted to put my journaling on my black base tag but you can't type in white so I recreated a tag in Photoshop Elements which was basically a black rectangle with white text that I printed on photo paper. The star tag is from a recent Studio Calico kit and the top tag of the movie image I made by just creating the rectangle and then cutting the tag shape. The base layer black tree paper is from last years Paislee Press mini kit, at least I think it is.

Day ten is always and forever her Birthday. Which means another set of birthday balloons! This year they had rainbow tie dye which was so her. I knew it was going to be a challenge festive wise so I just eliminating anything Christmasy and went from there.

I really had no alphas that looked remotely right so I decided to create my own from the balloons. I created my own image layer by copying repeatedly the portion of the balloon on the left since it was relatively straight up and down. I smoothed it out the best I could and then clipped that to the font text. It came out better than I thought and I think it pairs perfectly with the bright colors. The clear acrylic holographic stars are old but are from Color Cast Designs.

Day eleven was the day we stuffed and mailed our Christmas cards. I snapped the photo on the left of my daughter as she fed the envelopes into the drive thru mailbox. The base layer of this page is a digital paper from Paislee Press, its pretty old.

I used a metal die from Studio Calico to create the attacher tabs from a thin clear transparency sheet I had. I always hate punching holes into the actual card so this works well.

Day 12 happened super early in the month but I wanted to fit the story in because I always do. She picked two papers this year and I love what she picked, even thought the silver glitter was a pain to wrap because tape doesn't want to stick to it. The rose gold is so her right now so I loved that one.

I'm trying to get pages done in the midst of getting Christmas settled and other work assignments so I'll be back to share more as soon as I can. I also still need to film a video, ugh.

See you soon,

December Daily® 2018 │ Days Four thru Seven

So it seems I'm working my pages in pairs this year which is okay with me. I actually like planning what's going to go on the back of something as I'm thinking of the front side. That way I always know what's coming next or what I have space for next.

Day four and day five were not made together but they ended up working well and mirroring each other nicely when I was done so that was a total win.

There are so many great movies out this month so this was the first that we went to when my mom was here. Because we went at night there weren't really any great photo ops but I always snap a pic with the tickets so I made that super small knowing it would fit nicely into the white space of this page. I had planned to add in the movie poster image but when I saw this peeking Grinch I had to use him instead. I added my journaling and kept it short and let the number and the heart fill the rest of the space.

My next story is about the most amazing, gigantic poinsettia I bought at Costco. This thing is HUGE and I love how it looks on our porch.

Days six and seven were made together because I had enough time to do two days. I wasn't sure how to fit in the stories for the days and ended up using one of my favorite 'floating journaling on top of a transparency" methods. Its a fun way to see the next day peek out and it allows you to tell a quick story and not use a ton of space to do it. The journling card I used here is from In A Creative Bubble.

The text for this day came directly from an IG and Facebook post I shared about the meaning behind this new ornament.

Day seven is a shot of our mantle, I wanted to include it again this year because I bought two new items that I really love. The journaling card I used here is from Paislee Press, their digital shop, not the 2018 mini kit.

I love how the shiny gold number pops off the page and gives the spread a little bit of sparkle.

I'll be back soon to share more pages as I make them!

December Daily® 2018 │ Days One thru Three

So I'm at it again, year 10!! Holy smokes I cannot believe this is my tenth December Daily® album. What an amazing project this has been and I treasure each and every one of my albums. So many thanks need to be expressed to Ali Edwards for creating this project. My holiday season would not be the same without this project.

I have gotten a bit of a late start on my album this year, which seems to be the same story for the past few years. I'm okay with getting a late start because I always know I will catch up. Plus a few solid full day sessions of scrapbooking help get me in the groove and it makes it fun for me.

As I share my pages here this year I will always try to tag things that I can that are current but if I don't feel free to ask questions, I'm happy to help if I can. One other note is this some of the links I share might be affiliate links, which means I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase using the links below. There is no additional cost to you if you use these links. But I wanted to disclose that up front.

The first thing I made was my cover page. I kept it super simple this year which is probably going to be a recurring theme from me this year.

The gold elements are Crate Paper Merry Days, the chipboard number is from Ali Edwards last year, the December twenty eighteen is from this years Paislee Press mini kit and the rubber star is from my stash, possibly from Felicity Jane but I can't be sure.

Day one is typically about advent calendars or Twinkle our elf's arrival but this year I focused mostly on the adorable Harry Potter Advent calendar I got for my daughter. This was a hot item this year and of course I missed out on all the presales so I had a hard time tracking it down. I got lucky one day on Amazon and found one at a fairly reasonable price.

The first figure was Harry himself so he deserved a front and center photo. The stamping I did is from the Merry Everything kit from Kelly Purkey. The kit is sold out but the digital files are available.

On the right side I used a paper from the Paislee Press 2018 mini kit as are the chipboard circle and the rubber piece. The stars are from my stash. The journal card is from Kelly Purkey.

Day two is about our tree hunt so I had to use one of the Riso prints Kelly sold in her specialty paper pack. I didn't want to cover it up so as you will see below I cut around it to slip photos under it.

All of the stamps I used on this side are from Kelly Purkey but sadly they are all sold out. I really love the tiny words that fit into the labels.

Here you can see how I cut down each side of the tree but left the bottom intact and didn't cut around the star. I backed the paper with a plain sheet of cardstock so the photos had a place to live.

I really loved the tag that was on our tree so I saved it and stamped in the details myself using the number stamps from the Countdown to Christmas kit.

I modified one of the journal cards to increase the length since my photo was long and thin.

Day three was the day we hung up the outside lights. I feel like I'm a total broken record about this story but we do it every year and it means a lot to me so its an important story for my album. This years photos turned out so cute and you may see something similar on our holiday cards this year.

I extracted some text from one of the papers in the Oh What Fun kit, and laid them on top of my photo. The & is from another digital kit and matched enough to work for this.

I decided to add some of my favorite throw back pics for this annual tradition and really love how this layout turned out. The chipboad traditions piece is from an old Paislee Press mini kit.

I have two more days pages done, I just need to photograph them and get them loaded. I want to do a video walk through as well, I just don't know if I should do them weekly or what. I tried weekly last year and only did one, maybe I should do half and then the other half. If you have an opinion or preference let me know in the comments.

See you soon,
