December Daily 2012 - Days 24 & 25

I seriously cannot believe that its over, it seemed to fly by a lot faster this year for sure.

Here is Day 24

I decided to focus on the right before bed parts of our day instead of trying to cram in the whole day.  I just love the rituals before bed on Christmas Eve!

Here is the insert

Here is Day 25

What a magical and wonderful morning we had! I learned my lesson last year and made sure I was in more photos and even had my sister in law snap one of all three of us that night too.  I don't usually mind being the one behind the lens but on important days like this I'm trying really hard to be seen too.

Here is the front of the insert

and the back where I spoke about the day and included a photo from the evening.  A super low key one was exactly what we all needed.

Finishing off the album has always been a challenge, what to include for that last slot.  This year I added a bonus day, Day 26 and took a photo of our tree and family room and the mess.  A great way to finish off I thought.

Here's a look at the album all full.

I again absolutely loved this project and really could not imagine my December without it.  I hope you all had a great time too!

Until next year December Daily!

December Daily 2012 - Days 20, 21, 22 & 23

I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to sit down and get some of these pages posted so I apologize for hitting you with four all at once.

I cannot believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve!  Where has this month gone!

Here is Day 20

I wanted to squeeze a bit about Starbucks in here somewhere so when my errands took me there that day to pick up some gifts I knew I could make it work.  I used one of the treat sacks instead of the cup this year. I just cut along the edge of the bunny so I could slip in my photo without covering up the design. I don't think I could have planned my outfit more perfectly!

Later that night we drove around and looked at Christmas lights.  I had a lot to say so I made the sides flip out on the right so I could have some more room.  The little tab in the center turns to allow the sides to open and also to keep them closed.

Here is the inside where you can read my journaling.  The left side speaks about the photos on the front and the right is about the photos inside.

The insert has some lyrics from Silver Bells.

Here is Day 21

Another day with two stories, The first was Simone's last day of pre-school and their holiday party.  A simple collage to capture it all.

The back of the insert was used for more photos again and I love that.  We had a little gathering at the house of some of the pre-school families and we had a great time.  Lots of good food and drinks.  I made sure to snap photos of the families before everyone left and to my horror the next morning I discovered that one families photos were totally blurry.  I did my best to sharpen the best one and ended up making all the photos sepia toned to help further mask my total photography failure.  It makes me so sad that I let this happen.

Since my collage took up all the room I added in a little tag to hold my journaling.

Here is Day 22

Simone has been wanting to make Santa his cookies for a few days now so we finally made it happen.  When I was a kid my mom would make the same sugar cookie recipe and we would cut out and paint the cookies with egg wash paint.  We do the same with Simone and she has come to really love it.

I really wanted to make sure this insert made it in and because I hadn't had a better place for it previously I tucked it in here.

And here is Day 23

We got Simone's gifts wrapped a few days ago but I always like to include a piece of her special wrapping paper and since I was quickly running out of days in it went today.  The top left card was from Kelly's kit.  I just heat embossed a veneer arrow with Red Glitter and placed it over the word 'you' so it would work better for my needs.  The card with Simone's list is also from Kelly's kit.

I used the last of the letterpress cards that came in the kit for the insert and left the front plain.

I added a bit of journlaing to the back side.

Phew!  Thanks for sticking with me!

I won't be back until after Christmas to show my last two days.  So I hope your holiday is filled with joy, laughter and lots of fun!  Merry Christmas!

December Daily 2012 - Days 18 & 19

Day 18 was a day was spent making holiday sweet treats.  It's a day I look forward to and one that Simone has become fond of as well.  I'm pretty sure her reasons are different than mine though.

Here is the spread

The color is a bit off on my photos the paper is more Coral pink than the rust color I'm seeing, sorry about that.  I was hoping I would be able to fit that peppermint washi tape in somewhere and this spread seemed perfect.  I ran out of P's so the P in pretzel is actually a lower case d, sometimes you just have to work with what you've got.

Here is the insert, a new one that seemed appropriate.

For day 19 I wanted to make sure I got in some shots of our decorations.  It seems since we've moved in to this house our Christmas decorations are finally finding their place.  I kind of love the way it turned out and have a feeling this layout will get repeated again.  Here is the full spread.

And the insert front and back.

I hope your days eighteen and nineteen went well too.

Project Life - Week 49

I'm officially behind a week but I managed to do what I've now coined as my Project Life Lightening Round and got week 49 done yesterday in a record 90 minutes.  I hope to finish week 50 the same way later this week.

Here is the full spread

Some you've already seen in my December Daily but like I said, I'm okay with that.  I really hate being behind and found that I had to search the memory bank a bit more than normal.  Thankfully I had plenty to include.

Here are the close ups.

The QR code on the top left is a video we took of Simone and her little treasure hunt.

Decmber Daily 2012 - Days 16 & 17

Sunday there were two stories that I wanted to tell so I used my insert as a divider to split the spread up.  Here is the first story.

I had to hit Costco to pick up our Christmas Cards and the parking lot was crazy when I got there.  I snapped this picture before I headed in.  It was CRAZY!.  The December calendar is a stamp from Kelly Purkey, love it!  I used glitter tape under my text strips and more star cuts from Studio Calico.  The insert is a favorite quote from Elf and it seemed to work here.

The second part of the day was the Ravioli making over at my sister in laws house that afternoon.  Its a family tradition for Christmas dinner.

And for yesterday, day 17 we mailed out our cards.

and the insert.

I hope your days sixteen and seventeen went well too.

December Daily 2012 - Days 13, 14 & 15

The last two days have been busy, busy with fun activities.

Here is the spread for the 13th, our night at the Polar Express train ride.

The envelopes on the left side open and there are these little double sided photo inserts in each.  Oh and if you're really paying attention I did fix the typo on Express.

The insert of course had to be my favorite quote from the movie and one of our tickets.

Here is the spread for the 14th, a little girls night of shopping, dinner and cocktails.  I tried my hand at a sequin confetti pocket and it was great fun!

I love the letterpress cards that came with the kit and felt they didn't need any embellishing

and the backside for some journaling and yes I fixed that typo too.  Its funny how I can look at things but not see them until I'm looking at a photo of them.  Must be a brain disconnect or something.

Here is the spread for the 15th.  I wanted this story to have its own spread because it was the first time Simone has written Santa a letter and even though this happened days ago (the letter writing) and (mailing the night of Polar Express).  I still wanted to include it so since nothing super exciting happened yesterday in it went.

I made the little banner at the top to cover the backside of the Sisters from the previous spread and left the confetti showing.  I rewrote the letter we wrote together on a journaling card so it would fit better.  The drawing was done on the same piece of paper as the letter so I just extracted it and laid it on to my page.  I cried when I saw this drawing, it touched me so much and I thought she did an amazing job.

Here is the insert another letterpress card.

and a picture on the back of the envelope because it was so cute too.

Thanks for sticking with me and I hope your days thirteen, fourteen and fifteen went well too!

December Daily 2012 - Days 11 and 12

Playing a bit of catch up today with two posts.

First up Day 11.  My sister in law is in town and its been awhile since everyone has been together at Christmastime so I made sure to get some pictures.

Here is the spread

It nice to have a photo of Delaine and her three kids this time of year.  While we were all gathered around the table I asked them a question and wrote down their answers.  I thought it would be fun to pay homage to their family here in a fun way.  I'll be doing more with this for sure but it was fun to put it down for December.  The pattern paper on the right is from Rhonna Farrer's holiday kit.  I took the colors for the word block from it.

Here is the front of the insert, kept it simple.

And the back, I added a little bit about what this was all about.  Merry Christmas word art, also from Rhonna Farrer, the little veneer alpha is Studio Calico, love it so.

Day 12

Yesterday my sister in law and I did some Christmas shopping but I didn't take a ton of photos so I decided to save the shopping story for later.  I wanted to document this book I had read so it was perfect for yesterday.

The page protector from day 11 on the left was a two slot one and I didn't really want to use that so I just took a piece of woodgrain cardstock, stitched several straight and zig zag lines with my gold thread and added some red glitter Thickers and just adheared the whole page directly on top of the page protector.  The holly leaves are Martha Stewart last year.  The right side is really simple just a print of the book cover and a digital poinsettia from the Kringle & Co. digital kit.

Here is the insert

The 12 Days card was from Kelly's kit, I just wrapped it around the vellum also from her kit.  On the back I added a crate number and a little journaling tag.

I hope you days eleven and twelve went well too!

December Daily 2012 - Day 10

The Birthday!  So much to include as always for Simone's Birthday.  I kept it fairly simple as you'll see, just words and photos and no Christmas embellishments.

Here is the spread

I used the ticket digital file from the Studio Calico 25 Days class as my date card for today, I just enlarged it to fit the space.  I added a few photos of Simone and the three of us from her party and some journaling on the left side.  The right is a large collage of photos from her party and the family dinner.  The collage template is from Ali's set this year.

Here is the insert.

I like to plan an envelope for this day especially because I usually have a lot to include.  This year I added a copy of the blog post I wrote for Simone's birthday and the photos that went along with it.  The envelope was the same cut file from before but this one is cut with vellum instead of the glitter paper.  I embellished the envelope a bit with some glitter tape (its actually gold but in the photo its picking up the reflection of my red shirt) and a Crate vellum number.

Here is the back of the insert.  I added some white Thickers to spell out a sentiment.

I hope your day ten went well!
