Project Life - Week 17

This past week was very mellow, lots of at home time which was great.  I love these more simple weeks, it helps to have less to choose from sometimes.  I edited with abandon this week, cutting out things that I felt I had done already in favor of things that were more day to day. I also love lazy Sunday's at home, it gave me time to sit down and get this done plus everything is still very fresh in my mind.  Bonus!

Here's a look at the whole spread and the close up of the left side.  As usual I started with no particular plan in mind and ended up with a lot of yellow this week.  I took my cues from the first photo from Sunday of me laying out last weekend.

For the title slot I used a cut out from the Dear Lizzy Polaroid paper and a sticker from her pack.  I also added some more of the Pebbles square sequins to jazz it up a bit.

I'm in love with the glitter chevron paper I used on this slot.  I bought it from Etsy of all places and it came as a set of a bunch of colors.  This paper is also the wallpaper on my phone right now.  The photo from last Sunday is awesome, I used the Filter Mania app before I uploaded it to Instagram which gave it the gold glow and the bokeh.

I've been meaning to try adding a QR code to my book for awhile now and a certain someone loves to have videos taken of her so it was a perfect fit.  While she was swimming last weekend I took a few videos of her jumping in and swimming with my DSLR camera .  I followed the steps from this video on how to create your own codes to add to projects.  It was super simple and I know I'll do it again.  I also played around with carrying a photo over onto two different slots and love the way that looks.

I also want to point out that while I did upload my video to YouTube I made sure that it wasn't searchable. That way the only way to see the video is if you have been provided with a direct link. Just a little security measure I felt was necessary. I also blocked out the QR code by laying something on top before I snapped the photo, not because there is anything bad in the video I just wanted to keep it private.

I loved this photo of Simone from a shopping trip at Target.  I used a digital journal card freebie from Persnickety Prints, I just moved the arrow to a spot that was more suited to my photo by opening the card in Photoshop Elements and grabbing the arrow with my magic wand tool.

The slot on the right was of a visit we had from our telephone/Internet provider.  Our service has sucked lately so they are trying to make us happy and brought us a new router.  We'll see if they make the cut.

A photo of the Princess Tea Party I talked about on Monday.  The banner paper is a new favorite digital paper from Lori Whitlock.  I love everything in that set of papers.

More about the sock puppets.  I loved the pretty, pretty please sticker from Dear Lizzy, it was perfect because that's what she said for days before we actually made the puppets.

Here is a look at the right side.

Another Cathy Zielske journaling card with a photo added.  This one was about Share Day at school.

I snapped this photo of all of us at the park the other day. You know one of those one arm phone photos.  It was so windy but its a good shot of all of us.

A few random day to day shots that make the book more complete.  I love these types of photos.  Who knows if I will still have those pillows in 10 years right.

Studio Calico presale was on Friday, boy was it awesome, two new stamp sets found their way into my cart before I even looked at them.  Can't wait for these to make it to my door.  I used their new Chevron mask and the Sunset Mister Huey to make the card and used the Stepping Stone alpha stamps and stamps from the Epic stamp set for the text.

The other slot is of my step daughter who stayed with us over the weekend.  I used to work for a cosmetic company so she went through my stash and took home some goodies.  It's totally fun being a girl!

Here is a photo of Larry and his girls from Friday and a bit of journaling of the weekend.  I sprayed the Studio Calico wood veneer camera with the Sunset Mister Huey.

Saturday Simone and I went to see Chimpanzee, it was a super cute movie.  That face, makes me want a little monkey!

I hope you try adding a QR code in your album, it's so 2012.  I wonder how long they will stick around.

Thanks for checking in!
