Five

Minutes will become hours, hours will become days, days will become weeks, weeks will become months, and months will become years.

I will never forget these words that your Dad spoke to me when we finally got back to our room the day you were born.  How right he was and how fast its gone.

Day 1

six weeks

Year 1

Year 2

Year 3

Year 4

Year 5

What I wouldn't give to go back to live these early days again. I cherish each and every sleepless night, it was hard but it was also more than just hard, I loved it. I loved being there to care for you, to comfort you, to protect you, to nurture you. To cuddle with you in the wee hours of the morning, looking into your eyes just so filled with love for you that it hurt. Watching you learn to roll over, to crawl, to walk, to run, to laugh, to smile, to love, it made my life whole.

You are the light of our lives, the best gift we ever could have received.

I'm sad at how fast things are moving but I'm so beyond grateful to know that I was given the chance to watch you soar. To watch you become who you are supposed to be. To help you, to guide you, to teach you, to protect you and to love you.

For many years to come...

  2. oh, dear...don't I know!! I thought I would be a young, exhausted Mommy forever during that time!! Now my girls are 20, 14 and 11! I am still tired...I feel older than I should...and am still figuring out how to slow time down with them so it doesn't go any faster. My life is going to be dramatically different in 6-7 very short years.
ENJOY every moment with your girl!!!
Happy Birthday, Simone!! Slow down a bit for your Momma's heart! ;)
