December Daily 2012 - Day 5

A little outside decorating today.  They always seem to work on this together, she loves to climb the ladder and pound in the stakes.  Pretty soon she'll be tall enough to do the whole job.

The left side is a template from Ali Edwards from this set, new this year.  The top left slot could be anything for the background, even a photo.  I used this white bokeh image that I saw on Pinterest.  The right hand side uses the same bokeh image but printed on the 36lb. white vellum I used for my inserts.  I used the Darling Dear veneer alpha's to spell out my title.  The bottom is a shot of our house.  I like to include shots like this so you can see how your house changes over time.  I love seeing pictures of the house I grew up in so I always try to include it for Simone.

Here is the front of the insert for this spread.  Dear Lizzy vellum and a gold doily that came in Kelly's kit.  I also cut a tiny slit in the gold doily and inserted the white 5 paperclip that came in the 25 Days class kit from Studio Calico.

I backed the vellum with white wood grain cardstock from Studio Calico and added a few more photos, journaling and a Crate Paper vellum number to have the date on this side as well.

Hope your day five went well too!

  1. I love your layout! This is such a special memory to capture.

I always used to help my dad with the lights. This is the first year ever that I couldn't (I moved to Chicago, and won't be home until December 21 this year!)

    1. Thanks Katie! Sorry you couldn't be with your Dad this year. I love that they do this together every year and knew down the road she'd be happy to have the photos. Merry Christmas to you!
