Featuring Studio Calico │ July Sunset Bay release

The Studio Calico Sunset Bay kits went live this past Wednesday and they are filled with so many great summery and tropical elements. I had so much fun creating with the kits and stamps so here is what I made.

First up is a pocket page spread plus and insert that I made for a trip to San Diego back in 2018.  I had held off on documenting this trip and I'm so glad I did because they released a San Diego City stamp set and it was perfect paired with the documenter kit. This is the main spread and the insert sits in between these two to hold more photos. I really loved the tropical leaf cards and of course the banana man was the cutest damn thing! I loved that I had the perfect use for him. I used as many of the cute phrases and icons from the stamp set on this spread and mixed them in where they worked and it was just the right embellishment.

Here is the insert. I wanted it to be clean that it was an insert so I folded back one row of photos and cut down one of the journaling cards to create a flag. I added in the stamped embelishment that I took the time to fussy cut along all of those points because I knew it would look better if I did, and it totally did. I added a clip and love that little accent.

Here is the front of the insert, that little seagull stamp, so cute.

And here is the back side. If you've ever sipped a Banana Daiquiri at the Hotel Del, you need this card and stamp set in your life.

Next up is a spread I made using the Notebook kit and the Stamp kit. I loved seeing the return of the Potty People on this stamp set! I really loved this set because there are so many possibilities for stacking and telling different family stories which is so great. I needed more of a preteen child then and little girl so I just stamped the woman stamp but made her a little shorter by masking off the bottom portion of the legs to more accurately depict our family.

I used the digital of the We Are Better Together phrase and printed that right on to my photo.

Lastly is a notebook spread I made with just the notebook kit. I really LOVED the acetate tags from that kit and used one to hold journaling that I slipped behind the sentiment in a little pocket I created. I tapped a glassine bag to the bag of the page to capture the tag when its slipped in so it wouldn't slide all the way thru the slit.

Take care,
