Featuring Kelly Purkey Shop │ February Shop Update

I can't believe February is over today. This month always screams by but still its hard to believe its already March. Today was also the shop update for Kelly Purkey Shop so I wanted to share the two projects I made using the kits and stamps this month.

The first project I made is a Travelers Notebook spread using just the Now & Then Travelers Notebook kit.  There were a lot of tag stamps in this months release and if you have been here awhile you know I love a good tag element in my scrapbooking projects. Because I wanted to make my tags a bit larger than the stamps in the kits this month I used them for inspiration and created my own large scale tags using the papers in the Now & Then Travelers Notebook kit.

My husband and I just celebrated our wedding anniversary so it was fun to do a little then and now comparison and to share a bit of that story. On the right side I loved having plenty of space to tell a longer story so this sheet in the kit was perfect for that. I accented it a bit with two of the stamps and also cut out one of the little cameras from the camera paper. I added in the little enamel dot to help bring in some of the yellowy orange from the left side.

I love the Now & Then phrase stamp but didn't want to use them together so I just masked off the portion before stamping so I could divide the stamp without physically cutting it apart. The photo circa text box stamp is such a great one for labeling your photos on any project so that's a great one to add to my collection.

My second project was another Travelers Notebook spread that I made marking my recent birthday. I wanted the photo I snapped of myself on the actual day to be the focus so I printed it full size. I just loved the XL Park Slope Alpha so I used that to stamp out the number but intentionally let it fall off the page. I used phrases from the OK Ladies stamp set and the super cool dotted pointer line from the Details mini kit stamp set.

The ink I used on the left side is Brilliance Moonlight White ink and its the best white ink for stamping on photos.

On the right side I used the roses stamp from the OK Ladies stamp set to create a cluster of roses because I deserve roses on my birthday right! I typed my journaling on a separate sheet of paper so it wouldn't complete with the grid lines of the TN paper. That little mauve heart sticker from the Details mini kit tied the whole thing together.

I hope you found lots of good stuff in this release! And make sure you check out the new Creative Team Idea Gallery on the shop home page. Its so awesome having the teams projects all at once live on the site at the same time as the shop update. It will definitely give you great ideas on how the kits and stamps can be used as you shop.

Take care,
