Featuring Kelly Purkey │ May Release

I seriously cannot believe its June! It's definitely summer where I live and we have already had several one hundred degree days so my time has been spent outside soaking up the sun instead of inside working. Because I want to be out doing fun stuff as much as I can, I decided this past spring to start documenting on a smaller scale so I've started a small notebook style scrapbook. I'm using this Wild Lilies May Designs notebook but I have also seen others do the same with a Traveler's Notebook. I went with the May Designs book because I love that it's a little bit wider. The pages are 5" x 8" so it's a really good size. It's quick and easy and I love that I can can play around with these smaller spreads.

I made three entries into the notebook using the stamps from Kelly Purkey's May release and here they are.

This first project is an older photo but it popped up on my Facebook memory that day and it was such a fun night and a great picture of our group of friends around the fire pit. I used the Tribe Kit designed by Jaime Waters, I just loved that Tribe stamp and it was the perfect background for a journaling card. The card I used came in the He Says, She says kit. Stamping on top of washi tape is something I really love to do, but just make sure you pick a dye ink that won't slide. I used my Ranger Archival Black stamp pad here and it never smeared.

My second project was all about National Donut Day. I loved that there was a donut on Jaime's Tribe stamp set and used that on top of one of Kelly's post its from the original set. I also used a few from the new set on the left side.

The template stamp is from the He Says, She Says kit and I love it when she adds stamps that can be filled in for some journaling or adding a title like I did here using the Alder alpha stamp set.

My last project was a really fun one to work on. The town I live it had its first annual Brewfest Memorial Day weekend and we went with a group of friends. It was super hot but so much fun! The Hoppy Hour stamp set from Kelly could not have been more perfectly timed.

I love layering inks to create some dimension when I stamp. I start with the lighter stamp color and then stamp it again with a darker ink just a tiny bit offset from the original stamped image. It makes them look a bit more 3D and I love how this looks. I used a few of Kelly's dies to create the banners and added my title with the Dalton alpha stamp.

I hope you enjoyed this release, as I'm typing this everything is still available but that could change at any moment. There are also digital files for the main He Says, She Says kit stamps and cards this month and if you are a kit subscriber those are now included with your subscription. This is a new feature for subscribers so if you like digital files, this is a great new perk with your membership so its a great time to sign up.

Cheers!
