Workspace Wednesday │ the tooth fairy edition

We lost another tooth yesterday so it got me thinking about how I'm going to document all of this. I've done well taking the photos, making the cards and saving the receipts. I'm just not sure if I should make a separate mini album for this subject or if I should just add these in to her school album that I'm about to start. If you are documenting the tooth fairy and/or tooth loss how are you handling it? I'd love to know.

You can read all about the cards I made and the receipts in this post here.

Workspace Wednesday │ the gift wrap version

I haven't used my workspace to make something in over a week but I have used my space to wrap a gift. A super sweet Valentine's Day gift for a certain little person I know. I totally can't wait for Valentine's Day and I wouldn't be surprised if that heartbeat and xoxo ribbon I used didn't end up in my Project Life® spread because I kind of love both of them. On a side note, I sure hope she shares one of the Blow Pop mini's with me, especially the Strawberry Lemonade one.

Workspace Wednesday │ Hello February

Its February and that means two things; a) Valentine's Day is almost here and b) my birthday is this month. I love that my birthday is in February, it means more pink, more chocolate and more celebrating! I also hope to include more making to that list. To help with that I recently went thru some of my stash and made sure that some of the special pretty items I have been saving (okay hoarding) were all within reach and out in the open because one of my goals this year is to use the things I love and not save them. So my goal for the month is to make sure that everything pictured here gets used. I'm thinking the scratch off February calendar card from LifeLovePaper is a total no brainer for a Project Life® spread along with the cute heart card from Marcy. The Cheers card from Jamaica and the Mama Needs a Cocktail stamp from Kelly will be an easy fit in either my Project Life® for my birthday or for a little layout about me with some of the sequins tossed in for good measure. Now granted Kelly's stamps are just hitting the market and not old but I really want to make a point to use them and not just file them away out of sight. I think this would be a really good challenge to take on each month and I would love it if you would join me. I invite you to take a look at your desk right now and grab four things (or more) that you have been saving and set a goal to use them this month, it will be fun! If you decide to play along share a picture of the items you have chosen and tag them #scraptheprettythings and then make sure to tag the finish projects too.

Workspace Wednesday │ the compartmentalizer edition

I'm planning to play along with Marcy Penner's Workspace Wednesday posts as much as I can this year. I love seeing how people store things and I always love little sneaks into other crafter's workspace's so I look forward to sharing some of my space with you.

By nature I'm a total compartmentalizer. Spell check is telling me that's not really a word, but I'm using it anyway. Basically I like my things in things. Just about everything around me in my home, in my car in my purse is inside something. I hate things floating around loose and messy, which is the main reason I HATE the kitchen junk drawer in my house.

When I spotted these super cute little divided organizers in the Target Dollar Spot I knew they were the perfect solution to corral all of the cute little things that come in kits.  I love that I could easily separate out everything by style and color so I'm using one for paper clips, one for acrylic bits and one for flair. I really like that I can get an overall view of everything without sifting thru them like I would have had they all been in one dish. I also love that they aren't super big and deep. Because they are shallow, a little less than one inch tall it makes them nice and compact and stackable. Its also a plus that the sections are small which makes is great for the super tiny items that you still want separated out.

Another victory from the Target Dollar Spot and as they say #targetdoesitagain
