So the best thing about getting a new computer is the massive amounts of new hard disk space you will have not to mention the speed. The bad thing about getting a new computer is the migration from old to new.
I hope to be back soon with my normal blog schedule but until I finish the migration and setting up the new machine all things computer related will be taking a hiatus. Sadly that includes working on Week 19 of Project Life today as I normally would do.
I hope to be back on Wednesday as normal but I'll keep you posted.

Five on Friday
I cannot believe its already Friday, this week totally flew by.
1. A friend posted this article on Facebook and I read it and I wanted to cry. Guilty, guilty, guilty. I needed to see this, I needed to feel it and I need to make some changes. I've already started and if you are a lover of all things tech and have kids, you need to read this too.
2. One of the photo prompts this past week for the photo a day challenge was "a scent you adore." I initially planned on snapping a shot of my favorite perfume Coco Mademoiselle but when another person I follow snapped that shot I thought maybe I could do something else. My birthday is in February and the flower for that month is violet. I've always loved violet's but have never had any luck caring for them and getting them to bloom. I thought about the old jar of Avon Violet solid perfume that I found at my grandmother's house when were were moving her out so many years ago. The jar was practically empty but when you open the lid it still smells. I loved that scent so much when I was little. I saved that jar from her house and dug it out. I realized I had a few more violet scented items too so that was my photo for the day. It's not a very common scent but if you look you can find some things out there. This Marc Jacobs perfume was a limited edition release that I got a few years ago for Christmas and the candle was also a limited release from Illuminations which shut its doors years ago. As you can see I'm savoring these items because I don't want to use them up. Crazy I know. What about you do you have a favorite scent from childhood that you still love?
3. We are becoming a bit neon obsessed in this house. It all started with a shirt I picked up for Simone from Old Navy. It has polka dots and some of the dots are neon. I loved the pattern so much and started looking for neon ink pads so I could replicate it but nope couldn't find any. I did however find some neon embossing powder so I will be embossing everything in neon shades now. Simone is also digging the neon and has a few pieces in her wardrobe including some cute new neon headbands we picked up at Target and this super cute dress from Kohls.
4. I seriously need to figure out how to replicate these Pizza Bell twisters at home. They are so yummy!
5. We celebrated Mother's Day at preschool yesterday. All the mom's were invited back to class for the last hour. When we arrived all the kids were seated on the carpet and we had special places set for us at the tables. They sang songs for us, we read a story together, they decorated cookies for us and even gave us a massage. It was seriously the best time. The kids were so excited and it was a really special day.
I hope all you Mom's out there have an equally special Mother's Day on Sunday. It's supposed to be in the 90's here so we will be celebrating pool side.

Project Life - Week 18
This past week was another wonderfully ordinary week and I loved it. Lot's of fun stuff to include so another heavily edited week. It's really hard to pick the best of the best while still trying to keep things balanced.
Here is the full spread and the left side, lots of orange and blue this week.
I made the date card using a new set of Cameo cut files that I got last week. I love the sunbursts, it came with three others and I love them all.
Last Sunday Simone and I went and picked up Jamba Juice for all of us, yummy!
Little miss helper cleaning her windows, I'll have to save this photo for when she's a teenager to prove that she used to help us around the house.
The other slot is a photo of our new favorite book. It's by Mo Willems, he's an amazing Children's book author and also writes for Sesame Street. If you have kids, get some of his books, they are amazing. The polka dot frame is from the Studio Calico Epic stamp set.
If you follow me on Instagram you already saw that I have professed this to be the Summer of Skirts. I love skirts, especially the new maxi length ones that are so popular right now. So easy and cool.
The Keep Calm slot was something I made, you can make your own Keep Calm posters here. I've used them before in this album and love that I can customize them as I need. I made this one to go with the slot below it.
Poor Simone was sick so we trucked down to the doctor Monday just to make sure she would be okay. She seems okay now but man the allergies and cough are going around here.
A new month means a new list from @fatmumslim for the Photo a Day Instagram challenge. I'm still going strong and haven't missed a day. This month's list is super awesome.
Here is a look at the right side.
My sister in law had another follow-up with her hand surgeon in Roseville so that meant more shopping at Charming Charlies and a stop at Nothing Bundt Cake for some to-go goodies, rough I know. I asked for an extra sticker, and saved the labels from the cute little cups they put the mini bundts in. More faux Washi tape goodness. Oh and some pretty darn good cake too!
Have you had the Dill flavored Triscuits yet...? They are delish! I spotted these at the store and had to bring them home. My favorite lunch is to make some tuna salad with dill and eat it on Triscuit's. These crackers made it even better, extra Dill! Yum was stamped with both sets of the Stepping Stone Studio Calico alpha stamps.
Larry took Simone to Chick-fil-A the day I was with my sister in law and she came home with a hat. He of thought it was funny to wear it one morning while making breakfast and of course I'm always armed and ready to SNAP!
Simone had a water safety demo at school and volunteered for the demo. Hysterical! I'm sorry I missed it but happy that Larry snapped these photos for me.
My sweet girl, we found this Unicorn at Home Goods, I couldn't resist mainly because it was only $8.00. The journaling is the most personal I've gotten in this album, just a little mention about how we've had some issues lately. Simone is VERY independent and wants to do things her way always. That's not always possible so there have been a few struggles. Nothing out of the ordinary and she will certainly figure it all out, I just felt it needed to be addressed. I certainly don't want anyone to ever feel our lives are filled with roses and sunshine 24/7. It's real here but we are very lucky to have a really great family.
Did you see the Super Moon this past Friday? It was amazing and my pictures totally sucked so I found this photo online from the Sacramento Bee. It's hard to see here but you can see Downtown Sacramento at the bottom. A super cool photo that I wish I had taken.
Okay so you've seen this photo already but I wanted to put it in this week. When I was working on this insert I grabbed the new Oh Happy Day Studio Calico stamps from Two Peas and felt that several could easily work on this insert. It was kind of fun to see how many stamps from one set I could use. I like how it turned out, simple and graphic especially with the paper from the Studio Calico Take Note 6x6 pad.
Saturday was busy and we did a lot but I ended up making this slot all about the Western Festival. It was a fun outing. We stayed away from the carnival rides and just walked around the park and looked at everything. Simone of course wanted to play in the jumpy houses. That evening Larry and I went out for Thai food and ended up hanging out at my sister in laws after. She kept Simone while we had dinner which was nice. Sometimes an hour away makes all the difference.
Thanks for stopping by, and I'll see you back on Friday!

Coconut Pound Cake
Man I love Pinterest...the food shared on the site is amazing. It seems like just about everything I've tried I liked so when I saw this Pin pop up on my feed the other day I wanted to make it right away.
The recipe is from this site, I was so excited to make it I took a screen capture from the website and posted it to Instagram. Quite a few people commented that it looked yummy and I had high hopes that mine would turn out just as delectable looking.
The batter blended smoothly and everything went as planned. The only divergent path I took with the recipe was I used a bundt pan instead of the called for tube pan which would ultimately prove to be a bad choice.
When I pulled my cake out of the over it looked and smelled amazing. Internally I was high fiving myself for creating such an amazing piece of baked goodness. This of course all came crashing down when I tried to remove said amazing piece of baked goodness from its pan.
Holy stick-ola, and yes, I did prepare my pan but apparently not well enough. I'm thinking the fluted edges were also too much for this delicate cake. When I did finally get the cake to turn out most of the top half was still stuck to the pan. Here is my cake, decidedly different from the perfection shown above...and since I had shared with the world my plans for cake perfection I felt it was only fair to fess up, be honest and show my decidely less than perfect cake on Instagram too.
As you can see on the left side my attempt to stick the broken bits back on in the hopes that the delicious glaze would adhered it back together did not work at all.
The good news is despite its less than perfect appearance it was one of the best coconut cakes I've ever had. Not only that by my husband and family all loved it.
It's safe to say that my old, tired, losing its not stick coating bundt pan is not long for this world and a new one as well as a tube pan will find their way into our kitchen soon.
Thanks for stopping by and if you bake anything this week, I send you non-stick good thoughts!
